How Lash Extensions Are Applied
The application of lash extensions is a meticulous and delicate process. It typically takes anywhere from two to three hours, depending on the desired look.
Your eyes will be closed during the entire procedure and you will be laid flat. My lash studio is equipped with a space heater, multiple blankets, fidget toys, and relaxing music to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
To begin, we will clean the natural lashes to remove any oils or makeup. Please arrive to your appointment with a clean face - no mascara or eyeliner.
Next, under-eye pads are placed to protect the lower lashes and ensure that only the upper lashes are worked on.
Your technician will then apply individual lash extensions, or lash ‘fans’, to each natural lash using a specially formulated adhesive. The extensions are not applied directly to the skin but to the natural lashes themselves, which allows them to grow out naturally with the client’s lash cycle.
Different types of lashes are chosen based on thickness, length, and curl, allowing for a personalized look. The extensions can range from subtle to dramatic volume, giving clients many different options that suit their style and eye shape.
